I don't quite know where to start describing Boko Yout, other than... Imagine - the single and video - is a "what just happened?" moment and I love it. Founder Paul Adamah describes it a "Afro-Grunge".
I don't quite know how Boko Yout has passed me by until now, especially as their debut long player Gusto has been out for over a year. Boko Yout started out in 2022 as a solo venture for Adamah, expanding to a trio in 2025 with fellow Swedes Kevin Stierne (bass) and Joel Kiviaho (drums).
What I do know is that I'm not wasting any more time, I'm buying the album now and immersing myself in their music immediately.
Boko Yout passed you by because there is so much music all around us all the time.
