Don't You Miss That Feeling?

A couple of soothing sessions from Ellen Beth Abdi today. I only really knew Ellen's name from her appearances on three songs by A Certain Ratio on last year's 1982 album.

First up is a Kicking Back Live Session courtesy of Rec Rooms in June 2021.

The second session was recorded at The Snug in Atherton in March 2021 and includes a couple of unexpected and lovely cover versions.

Saturday morning's BBC Breakfast featured John Robb along with Mark Davyd from the Music Venues Trust, talking about the importance of grassroots venues and the proposal for larger venues making a financial contribution to support them and therefore live music in general.

This item has been in rotation since the shit storm that is the opening (or not) of the Coop Live mega venue in Manchester and last month a similar item ran featuring Ellen Beth Abdi, interviewed as an "up and coming" artist at Matt And Phreds before performing a snippet of a song.

I'm seeing Ellen tonight in a 250-capacity venue in Bristol, supporting a headliner that I've also never seen live in concert before. To say that I'm looking forward to both is an understatement, but rest assured there will be more words (and maybe pictures) to follow.

    1. Thanks Adam, it was an excellent night. More words to follow this week, but here are a few as a teaser: 'marmalade', 'raffle' and 'Beth Orton'.
