Don't Spend A Lifetime Looking For Heaven When You Can Find It On The A27

I nearly called this post 'Give It Some Welly' as it's about Welly, but watching the video for Big In The Suburbs, the above line popped out and demanded headline status. And besides, NME already used the other line last August.

There are lots of lyrical nuggets in the 5-minute video and even if the music treads familiar ground, it's so much fun that I don't really care.

Welly is both the nickname of the singer/songwriter Elliot Hall and the collective name of the four friends that play with him: Matt Gleeson and Joe Holden-Brown (guitars), Jacob Whitear (bass) and Hanna Witkamp (synthesisers & percussion).

Big In The Suburbs is also the title track of Welly's debut album, out on 21st March 2025.

Welly will be touring the UK in February and March, kicking off at the Louisiana in Bristol, which is already sold out. You can check out other dates here

Go on, give it some.
