January will be a gig-free month for me, so to fill the void I've compiled a imaginary live set featuring some top-notch performances from 1977 to 1979. And imagine the mosh pit!
The formidable line-up includes The Fall, Joy Division, Blondie, The Clash, The Specials, Scritti Politti and Magazine with heavyweight appearances from The Police, John Cale and David Bowie.
I even managed to sneak in some John Cooper Clarke.

Wow, what a mind-blower of a gig that would be! And a great comp idea too. I can already sense the heat, the sticky floor beneath my feet, feel the jostling of shoulders against mine and know that my ears are going to be buzzing like crazy tonight whilst so much smiling makes my jaw ache! - just looking at the line-up.

ReplyDeleteI was particularly amused by the pairing of The Police and Joy Division, with some accidental verbal sparring between Sting and (I guess) Bernard. Or Sumner and Sumner, if you will!
